Practical Agronomy is run by agronomist, Chris Harrold whose entire career has been in Agriculture, beginning in practical arable farming roles including arable farm management and moving into technical agronomy roles in the last fifteen years. He's a dedicated and highly motivated professional agronomist with a wealth of technical arable and grassland production experience. His journey has been marked by a commitment to agriculture, continuous learning, and a passion for making a positive impact.

Chris’s educational background has been the foundation for his career. He holds a bachelor’s degree in agriculture from Newcastle University, a BASIS Diploma, and he has been a member of the BASIS & FACTS professional register for twenty years, and more recently the BASIS Environmental Advisors register. This advanced education has allowed Chris to deepen his expertise and gain specialised knowledge in profitable crop production and environmental sustainability.
